European legislation was implemented under the influence of increasing awareness for better occupational, safety and health conditions in the workplace. Subsequently, the importance of products falling under the scope of this directive is growing and (European) importers and suppliers – faced with fierce competition - are increasingly looking for new sources of supply. The gross margins for these products are very reasonable and there is a wide variety of products needed by business and private users. The total EU and EFTA market size of PPE is around US$ 10 billion.
