This CBI market survey for power electronic components (PEC) shows that EU demand for PEC is expected to perform better than other segments of the electronics market, regardless of the economic environment. This better performance is caused by the ongoing growth in demand for more efficient power in combination with the strive for doing more with less. Between 50-70% of EU demand is produced locally, the remainder is imported. So far imports originating from developing countries play a minor role of importance and DC share only went slightly up in the period 2004-2008.
