Sustainable cotton labels and initiatives

If you produce or trade cotton products destined for the EU, you have to take into account that in the EU there are initiatives and labels that specifically promote the production (and marketing) of sustainably produced cotton.

This document describes some labels and initiatives such as Organic Cotton, Fairtrade cotton, the Better Cotton Initiative and the Cotton Made in Africa which are widely applied in the EU and therefore can influence your export to the EU.

Also information is given about how relevant these initiatives are in Europe and the possibilities that exist to facilitate the implementation by producers.
